My New Camera and how it made me re-evaluate my work life balance

Its been nearly a year now since I was offered the chance to purchase a new digital SLR camera.
I so nearly didn't take up the offer as I was totally involved in my job and could not justify the time or expense of owning a new camera.
I was so worried at the time that the forth coming change of employers under TUPE would mean having to change jobs, that I totally forgot about making time for myself and my family.
My Canon EOS 550D DSLR has helped me to manage my Work/Life balance by introducing me back into the wonderful world of photography, I have started to not only take photos of general subjects but to specialise in natural scenery.
I have always been interested in photography ever since my dad showed me how to develop basic black and white photos when I was very young.
This has led me to view what I am photographing in a way that I think my dad would have marvelled at.
The age of the digital image has meant that basic photo images can be basterdised and altered beyond all recognition of thier original raw beauty.
I try to capture out of the ordinary images whether they be strange cloud formations or close up natural images.
My camera now comes with me every time I leave the house to take the dogs out or just going for a walk.
Images I have taken have been published in our local daily news paper the evening advertiser.
My portfolio grows every week and I would like to some day get my work published in national magazines.
These days photography is open to all and sundry and I have found it a great way to relax and refocus my attention away from work and towards my family and new hobby.
